OMG Digital Media launches “Wear Your Mask MN” COVID-19 information funded by Ramsey County targets vulnerable populations

Wear Your Mask MN messaging is intended to educate the public on the importance of wearing a mask to protect the most vulnerable members of society: seniors, children and essential workers against the deadly coronavirus, in addition to providing valuable resources available in Ramsey County.

What:  Wear Your Mask MN

WhereFacebook @WearYourMaskMN

When:  Monday, August 3, 2020

Why:  According to COVID-19 data by Race/Ethnicity from the MN Department of Health, COVID-19 is exposing pervasive and persistent racism in communities of color and indigenous communities, due to work in low-paying jobs that are now considered essential.  Communities of color and indigenous communities have substantially higher rates of health inequities, making them more susceptible to get infected and die from COVID-19. The virus magnified Minnesota’s racial wealth gap that has existed for decades.  Source: https://mn.gov/covid19/data/data-by-race-ethnicity/index.jsp

Ramsey County is partnering with community organizations to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate information and resources about COVID-19, resources and services.  Full list: COVID 19 Trust Messengers and Media Partners

The campaign features civil rights leader and author, Dr. Josie R. Johnson, children’s author Maya Buckner, and more.  More information is available at: https://omgdigitalmediasolutions.com/covid19/
